IMPACT
Every person has an impact - every day.
Consciously or unconsciously.
Through your behavior, your decisions,
and the way you communicate,
you show something to the world.
You make a difference.
What remains
I remember my father’s funeral.
There, I met a childhood friend
I hadn’t been in contact with for a long time
and didn’t expect to see.
In tears, he told me
how much my father had influenced his life -
and how important it was for him
to come and say goodbye.
As a child, he had been a rather lazy student.
But his dream was to become a chemist.
Back then, my father had cut out a job advertisement
for a chemist from the newspaper
and said:
If you ever want to meet these requirements,
you need to start taking it seriously. Now.
That conversation became a turning point
for my childhood friend.
And for me -
in the midst of my grief -
it was a quiet, comforting moment
on a very difficult day.
There is always something that remains.
Even without words
But it’s not only what you say that shapes others.
It’s mainly what you are.
For a long time, I thought I had to explain things to others.
But at some point, I understood:
I am already showing something all the time.
Not through words.
But through myself.
Our unresolved parts have an impact too.
Fears.
Patterns.
Small self-deceptions.
We carry all of this - often unconsciously -
out into the world.
Being impactful, consciously
You have an impact. Always.
And with growing awareness,
you can influence how.
You can take responsibility for your impact.
Not by being perfect.
But by being honest.
Awake.
And connected to yourself.
Authentic.
Your life as a contribution
Our inner work is not an ego project.
It reaches into the world.
This is how we can contribute
to the kind of world we long for -
instead of only complaining about what is.
Studies show that our behavior reaches further
than we often believe.
Not only to the people directly around us -
but beyond that.
Across multiple layers.
When you become calmer,
clearer,
kinder,
the likelihood increases
that something shifts in your environment.
And not only there,
but also in people
you don’t even know directly.
More awareness.
More honesty.
A different impact.
LUMA – it begins in you.
Mini exercise:
Take a moment today in a conversation.
And gently notice:
Does what I’m saying
match what I truly think or feel?
Not to correct anything.
Just to become aware.
Reflection question:
What kind of energy do I want to share today -
through who I am?
